Our Process

How We Build Our Cabinets

 Design

The design process starts in our 3,000 sq/ft cabinetry showroom, where we hold the first two design meetings. When attending your first design meeting, we ask that you bring a basic sketch of the space we’re working with. This can be a blueprint (if building new) or a basic hand sketch of the area showing wall lengths, wall height, windows and doorways.

Following the first meeting, our designer requires 1-2 weeks (depending on the size of the project and workload) to prepare a well planned, custom design & proposal. When your package is ready, we will arrange the second meeting at our showroom to review the details of of the design. We are able to present you with an advanced 3D rendering, as well as technical elevation and plan details of your project.  Along with our design, we also present you a full proposal which includes include time frame, specifications, cost and payment schedule for the project.

The last step in our design process is a detailed on-site measurement by one of our skilled cabinet makers. If any revisions are required to the project, we will always provide you an updated set of drawings for approval. From this point, your project will be sent into project management and proceed to the construction phase!

CNC Automation

Our CNC department is the first step in our construction process. Our advanced software is completely “screen to machine.”  The approved design is electronically transferred to our CNC machine for cutting. This greatly reduces human error and improve the accuracy and quality of our cabinet parts.

Aside from machining our own products in house, we also offer machine services for other companies and contractors. We regularly provide large run and overflow relief work for other custom cabinet shops.

Custom Manufacturing

In-house construction provides us with the ultimate ability to maintain control over our quality. Despite our size, we don’t run our shop as an assembly line production fashion. We run small pods of cabinet making teams who work on their projects exclusively until finished. We also take a unique stance on installation, using our own cabinet makers instead of third party sub contractors.

Every quality product, starts with quality material. We only use high-end materials from trusted vendors. We do not settle for second best. We have experience in fabrication of many different mediums from wood to plastic and even metal.

Hand Finishing

Whether you’re looking for traditional stain, contemporary lacquer or ultra modern high gloss, we have your finish covered. Our finishing department is over 3,000 sq/ft and our spray booth is fully enclosed and completely climate controlled. We mix all of our own solid lacquer and stain products in-house. We can color match existing finishes or create one of a kind colors to give your project a truly custom feel. Our skilled finishers can distress, shade, antique, glaze, buff, stain….just about any type of finish typically found in woodworking.

We always provide our clients with a control sample of their custom finish before we start the project. If the sample still needs tweaking, we can make any necessary changes to ensure you are 100% happy and comfortable before finishing the entire project.

 Experienced Install

We install what we build. No sub contractors, no middle man. Our highly skilled team of cabinet makers and installers will see your project through from beginning to end. This is another quality control measure to ensure we’re providing the best product possible.

One of our top compliments remains the professionalism of our staff. We respect the fact that your house is not simply a job site. It’s your home and we are guests within it. At the end of every installation we leave you a detailed post installation report as well as a care and maintenance booklet.

We travel throughout central Ontario, with much of our work coming from Toronto and the Muskoka’s. We have extensive condominium experience are well prepared for the unique challenges that these projects involve.
